I have tracked down Arabee's registration papers. Some showed interest in her ancestry - and while the format is terrible, I typed up the names, since I don't have a scanner. Each line is a column, and reading left to right, the names go from top to bottom (LE BARON and SUNN MAIDE produced FA SUNN BARONE....for an example). She's pretty heavy in *BASK up top! And, while I'm not a fan of writing in all caps, that is how they showed it on the certificate, so that's how I wrote it.

Anybody experienced in distance riding see any familiars in there? I'm guessing not - she came from a breeder who leaned more toward showing. But then, Arabee's not built at all like a halter horse - her topline is not flat enough - her hindquarters have plenty of power built in - quite the athlete :-) not just a dainty doll who can pose pretty. (although I think she's pretty, too!)

What is the last (oldest)female on the bottom of her papers. That way you can trace her tail female line. http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/ Check out this free site. It has most horses on it.

Brown-R (I believe John Crandle has a Brown-R horse) very good endurance horse. Bask's sire was a race horse. I think the old american lines are really nice for endurance as well.

And here's my filly that I personally bred for endurance. She has the same tail female line as Stagg Newman's Jayel Super. And she is by a stallion that is closely related to John Crandel's Heraldic's sire.

But really, anything goes. Alot can depend on you as well. How well you condition, feed her, care for her, etc. Then sometimes horses with perfect pedigrees don't pan out and others that you never think would make it can really surprise you.
I used to own this mare as well. She's a Shagya Arabian and a full sister to Jeremy Olson's SA Belshazzar. Who just won a 75mile FEI ride in Florida this weekend and is on track to hopefully qualify for the WEG in 2010!!! Also, if anyone else is reading this. I know her sire's owner very well. Bayram is an exceptional stallion and I would encourage anyone who wants to breed an endurance horse to breed to him. When Sasha is old enough I will probaly breed to him. If I can talk my husband into another baby......

Phebes pedigree on the female (tail) line goes like this: Aidrian, by Raidarr out of Gwarlina. Gwarlina by Gwar out of Gillyna. Gilleyna by Shalimar Gillette our of Abuseyna. The stallion Gwar was Comet (Polish). Her other lines on her mama's side include Radio*, Ferzon*, Azraff* and Abuseyna*. Anyone want to tell me what the * means when it is behind a horse's name in a pedigree? She has 26*'s through Aidrian's line. The rest of Phebes is by FWF Magic Marker (world champion pinto in the show ring), a high percentage arabian heavily bred to Bask lines, and saddlebred cross is where the pinto markings come in.
I'm pretty sure the * means that the horse was imported.
I should look this up to confirm before I post it, but I'm too lazy! I'm pretty sure though.

Star means imported on your AHA registration. But if you are looking at all breeds pedigree.com the star means there is a photo of that horse.
